This beautiful haematoid quartz point is a mixture of transparency, with inclusions of yellow-orange iron oxide due to the crystal and the thickness. This sublime alchemy between crystal and iron oxide gives this precious haematite point a lot of character.
Haematoid quartz is a rock crystal into which ferrous water has penetrated, or a rock crystal on which a layer of haematite has been deposited. The colour of the haematogenic quartz is therefore the result of the oxidation of iron (haematite).
